WHY MEALWORMS?
Mealworms are another source of protein, in addition to Gammarus. Your snails mainly require animal protein for their foot.
If you don't offer your snails a source of protein, they will start eating each other. This can be especially noticeable in young snails, where empty shells will be found in the terrarium.
Therefore, it is essential to provide your snails with a protein source. With Mealworms or Gammarus, you are well equipped.
Adult snails require protein just as much as young snails do. Mealworms are typically fed once a week.
They are very dry and can be easily ground and sprinkled over food.
