WHY A HEAT MAT?
A heating mat (or alternatively a heat lamp) is essential for almost all giant african land snails. Since they are tropical animals, they require a consistently warm environment.
Standard room temperature (around 19-23°C) is often not sufficient, and it can get particularly cold when airing out the room.
A heating mat helps provide the necessary warmth for the snails in a species-appropriate way.
The 20W heating mat is suitable for terrariums up to 80 cm in size. For larger terrariums, stronger heating options are needed.
